The Medes Islands are an archipelago located in the Mediterranean Sea, just 1 km off the coast of L’Estartit. This archipelago was protected in 1983 by an order of the Generalitat de Catalunya and in 2010 it was declared a protected national natural park due to its great wealth of fauna and flora, both marine and terrestrial. This archipelago is characterised by its magnificent seabed, where the remains of shipwrecks and sunken Greek ships have been found, a seabed much appreciated by scuba divers.
One of the most outstanding activities are the boat trips, as in this way you can admire the underwater richness of the islands and discover idyllic places. In addition, at Boats Mediterrani if you rent a boat you also have the possibility of renting aquatic accessories and one of the most recommended is the seascooter. An aquatic propulsion device, ideal for exploring the seabed at high speed and going down to a depth of up to 40 metres.
These are some of the most abundant fauna and vegetation of the Medes Islands.
These islands are considered to be the best natural reserve in the western Mediterranean, thanks to their great wealth of marine fauna and flora.
