At Boats Mediterrani we are lucky enough to be surrounded by a paradise. The proximity of the famous Cap de Creus nature park is priceless and, as well as visiting it by boat or jet ski, we recommend walking along the coastal path.
The coastal path from Roses to Cadaqués is a Mediterranean path divided into three sections. It is a path that patrols or guards used to cross the coast to control smuggling and boat traffic by the sea. It’s a route that takes in many of the Costa Brava’s beaches and coves.
The first section runs from Roses to the Almadraba, a distance of around 4 km. This section runs from the Roses lighthouse, past the Trinidad castle, a historic monument built in the mid-sixteenth century, 60 metres above the sea in the shape of an irregular star, to one of the best beaches in Roses, l’Almadrava. This route takes in such magnificent spots as the beach at Canyelles, another of Roses’ best beaches, the islet of els Brancs and the points of Omella and Ullastrell.
The second section runs from Almadraba to Cala Montjoi, also around 4 km long. This stretch passes through Punta Falconera, a cape that separates Canyelles and Almadraba from the Bay of Montjoi, and passes Cala Lledó, a small cove that has no sandy surface, is surrounded by rocks, a pine forest and just before reaching the cove is the Cala Lledó viewpoint, which offers magnificent views. We also cross Cap Trencat and Cap Blanc, which separates Cove Murtra from Cove Rostella, two magnificent coves with crystal-clear waters.
The stretch ends at Cala Montjoi, home to Ferran Adrià’s famous 5-star El Bulli restaurant.
The final stretch runs from Cala Montjoi to Cadaqués, passing through wonderful coves such as Calitjàs, Cala Pelosa, Cala Jòncols, a perfect cove for scuba diving, to Cap Norfeu, where the route continues through the famous Cap de Creus nature park to Cadaqués. The route is around 10 km long.
This route is ideal for hiking enthusiasts, and highly recommended for those who wish to do it by boat, as there are many coves and beaches where access by land is difficult, and doing it by boat or motorbike is the perfect option for contemplating these idyllic places and landscapes. At Boats Mediterrani you will find the best boat hire with or without a licence on the Costa Brava.
